MJ

MJ is proudly Trans Non-Binary, Kabi Kabi/Noongar Aboriginal and neurodivergent/disabled. MJ has worked in the arts industry for 6+ years, through their own event promotion business and their performance career. MJ’s work is focused on supporting and uplifting Non-Binary, Transgender, AFAB, BIPOC, First Nations and LGBTQIA+ artists in Boorloo. MJ is a performance artist and works in other sectors such as social media management, production, entertainment and support services.

MJ’s main focus is providing, protecting and nurturing safe spaces, services and practices for LGBTIQA+/BIPOC in the community. Their primary passion project through their role at YPN is the ‘Pride Yarns’ project, which engages community Elders and LGTQIA+ young mob in yarning circles for connection, education and research purposes.

MJ has an eye for the stranger side of life and enjoys doing drag, makeup, content creation, performance and music on the alternative side of the spectrum. In their spare time, MJ enjoys making something peculiar through their artistic outlets, watching horror movies or researching their culture.
